Gio Box is a versatile Italian singer, songwriter, and performer from Milan. Her stage name comes from her first name Gigliola (“Gio”) and her surname Scatola, which means “box” in Italian. Thanks to her ability to perform songs in many different styles, she is often called the “human jukebox”.
She began her musical career at the age of 10, performing in clubs and iconic venues such as Rolling Stones and Baia Imperiale. At just 14, her voice was chosen for the theme song of the animated series Nadia Applefield, broadcast on RAI 2 and aired on television for over a decade.
Throughout her career, Gio has worked as a backing vocalist for renowned Italian artists such as Adriano Pappalardo (album No Council) and has performed TV duets on RAI 1 with Raf and Davide de Marinis. Her musical range spans Pop, Rock, Motown, Soul, Latin, House/Dance, Reggae, Reggaeton, Hip-Hop, and Electro.
Gio has performed internationally at prestigious venues in Miami, Dubai, London, Monaco Monte Carlo, Switzerland, Malta, the Canary Islands, and Puerto Banús-Marbella. Since 2016, she has also served as a patron and supporter of various LGBT festivals in Madrid and Gran Canaria.
