The Maspalomas International Carnival 2026 is already underway! 🎉 The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has officially published the regulations for the Grand Parade on Saturday, March 21st, 2026. Under the theme ‘The Circus’ 🎪, this edition features unprecedented technological control and security measures to ensure the splendor of a festival declared a Festival of Tourist Interest of the Canary Islands.

The Maspalomas International Carnival 2026 will be held from March 10th to 29nd 📅 with a more family-friendly and participatory format.

⚠️ Following the postponement of this week’s planned events due to adverse weather conditions caused by storm “Therese” passing through the Canary Islands, the Department of Festivities and Events of the Municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana announces the postponement of the Grand Parade, originally scheduled for Saturday, 21 March, to Saturday, 28 March 2026.

The decision was made in response to the wind, rain and coastal phenomena alert declared by the Government of the Canary Islands due to storm “Therese”, in coordination with the guidelines and recommendations set out in the Emergency Municipal Plan (PEMU) of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and the Special Island Emergency Plan (PEIN) of the Gran Canaria Island Council, with the aim of ensuring the safety of attendees and participants.

Likewise, the postponed events will be moved to next week, concentrating the southern carnival celebrations between 25 and 29 March.

Among the most notable innovations is the rescheduling of some traditional events to encourage family attendance 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. The Queen’s Gala has been moved to the first Sunday of carnival 👑, allowing the children’s parade and family carnival to be celebrated on Saturday.
